Scribus is supported by a group of dedicated and friendly people highly knowledgeable about Desktop Publishing. This group consists of core Scribus Team and an enthusiastic and friendly Scribus community that assists beginner and pro alike. You can find help or take part in the greater Scribus community in many ways:
- If you just want to download/install Scribus then go directly to our downloads page and choose your system to get the relevant instructions.
- Read our documentation This is our official documentation site, and contains the information found in Help > Scribus Manual, plus some additional information.
- Read the Frequently Asked Questions. It's likely somebody already encountered this problem.
- Browse the wiki The Wiki began as a place for informal contributions by users, but has developed into a quite legitimate source of information, plus lots of practical advice, HOWTOs, Tips and Tricks that you won't find elsewhere. If you're having a problem not solved by the online docs or on the Scribus main sites, check the Wiki first. And by all means, if you feel you have something to contribute, set up a Wiki account and help us out.
- Buy our Manual! Newbies and experienced Scribus users alike can benefit from buying our soon-to-be-released printed manual. Furthermore, profits from the sale benefit the Scribus project.
- File reports for bugs you find in the bug tracker. Before you file a bug, search the bug tracker first to see if it's already been reported, and maybe even solved. This is also the place to submit requests for new features that you believe would enhance Scribus.
- Visit the IRC Live Chat channel #scribus on FreeNode.net This is especially helpful when you're trying to troubleshoot a problem that will require a lot of to and fro questions and answers. Read more in the IRC section of our on-line documentation. If you are unable to run your own IRC client software you may use a web-based interface that requires only a web browser.
- Email Scribus User Mailing List if you are having problems with running Scribus that are not answered by FAQ or documentation after you tried asking in IRC. This is not a support channel, but many Scribus users and Developers read it, so it is likely that somebody will try to answer your question. By joining the list you can receive list messages spontaneously. If you don't care to join, make sure to visit the mailing list archives at intervals, since helpful people might reply only to the list without CC'ing you. Here are some further suggestions about the mailing list and the official documentation.
- Contact Scribus Team in regards to this website or issues not directly related to running the Scribus program using a contact form.
- Employ our contracted support.
